My friend Anne found this little tutorial by an adorable Austrian woman with the most charming accent. I adore her accent! While Anne and I watched the video we both were gushing about how much we loved her accent.
Anne's hair is currently in the shorter stage, so she was eager for me to try this method to see the results. I was too, and as soon as I got home I went to work. The method was super easy to pull off, and I even contemplated to actually wearing my hair wrapped around a headband as a new hair do. I decided not to wrap my hair too tight around the head band since I wanted more of a wave than ringlets. Next time around, I'm going to go tighter. Love this method!

Blossom
I've been asked to make some last minute boutonnieres and corsages for a wedding this weekend and I have been given all the artistic freedom in making them. I just have to incorporate the colors of blue and yellow. I'm headed to Pike Place Market tomorrow morning to pick up what I need and hopefully I can pull this off without staying up all night on Friday. Here are some pictures for inspiration.

Shoe Love
Lately I have been spending far too many hours on Pinterest. Literally I am an addict. One of my favorite boards is my shoe love board. I pin a shoe and dream of ways to obtain that shoe. Kind of tricky since most of the shoes that I pin are designer and I can yet muster the courage to fork over that amount of cash for a shoe.

40's Love
I am obsessed with the 40's, oh such glorious hair! For my birthday, I threw a 1940's themed cocktail party. We listend to big band music, sipped on mocktails, and played poker.
Everyone came dressed in era clothing and the ladies sported the hair that I adore along with bold red lipstick, of course. The Cute Boy was ever so handsome. I'm going to try to convince him to dress like that all the time.
It was a delicious birthday! I want to throw

A Birthday Giveaway!
Since today is my birthday, and I want to carry on with my birthday giveaway tradition that I started last year, I am giving away a fabulous pair of earrings.
My lovely and talented friend Anne, from Anne Garber Design gifted me with two pairs of stunning earrings for my birthday. One was for me to keep and the other was to share with you! I own several pieces of jewelry that she has made and I constantly get compliments on them when I wear them.
The earrings I am giving away today are sea blue chalcedony briolettes that dangle delicately from silver vermeil and twisted loops accented with an adventurine rondelle. Ear wires are sterling silver. Earrings are approximately two inches in length.
In order to enter this giveaway, in the comment section tell me one thing that made you happy today. To receive a second entry, follow/subscribe to my blog and let me know by leaving a comment (if you are already a follower, just leave a comment). For a third entry, tweet or facebook about it and post the link in the comment section. So basically you can enter the giveaway up to three different times.
I will select a winner using random.org on May 17 at noon. Good luck!
*Giveaway only open to US residents.

Let's Party
Remember BHLDN? Well they just released their wedding decor section and it makes me want to throw a huge party. I'm turning 27 in five days, maybe that's a good excuse to buy a banner or two. I'm also really loving those pom poms!

A Royal Wedding
I'm a sucker for weddings and I stayed up all night to watch the Royal Wedding. It was most definitely a fairytale.
The second I saw Kate's dress I gasped and instantly thought of Grace Kelly. The dress was so perfect and appropriate, it was exactly what I imagined it to be like. It was modest and very vintage like with a modern twist. The designer, Sarah Burton at Alexandra McQueen was the perfect choice to design a dress fit for a princess. Kate was breathtakingly gorgeous. She is a true fashion icon.
There were so many moments that I loved about this wedding. I loved how Wills kept stealing glances at her at the alter, the little whispers they shared, and how at one point he winked at her. It was all very intimate. I love that even though it was a very serious affair, there were moments of lightheartedness; Prince William leaning over and telling his future father-in-law "I thought this was supposed to be a small family affair" and even though Kate is extremely thin, he had difficulty putting on her wedding band.
My favorite part of the whole wedding ceremony came from the sermon given by The Bishop of London.
Every wedding is a royal wedding with the bride and groom as king and queen of creation, making a new life together so that life can flow through them unto the future.

| Totally smitten by each other |
I stayed up even later than planed because I wanted to see the kiss on the balcony. I adored how genuinely shocked Kate looked as she walked out on to the balcony and saw the massive amount of people waiting for them and she said "oh wow." And the kiss! They kissed twice and both times it was so sweet and lovely.

Be still my heart
I adore Etsy, almost every day I spend at least 30 min or so browsing it and drooling over beautiful things that I could buy.
You can only imagine how I felt when I learned about this amazing site called Heartsy. It's like Groupon or Living Social for Etsy. Every day they feature several different seller's items at a discounted price.
I loved today's deal from Earrings Nation- $16 for $45 of online store credit. How could I not pass this awesome deal up?

Fashion icon
I adore Jackie O. I think she was so incredibly beautiful, graceful and had killer style. I love her massive sunglasses, A-line dresses, low heels, pearls and her hats and scarves that show cased her shoulder length jet black hair.

A classic beauty! I fell more in love with her style when I saw her wedding dress and pictures of her on her wedding day. Stunning!

On Friday, I showed up to work wearing red lipstick, a 60's style outfit, big sunglasses, along with my new above shoulder length hair. A coworker saw me and said "Ohhh, very Jackie O" It kept me smiling all day!
Who is your fashion icon?

Glamour
I'm not really a glamorous person. I wear make up maybe twice a month. I straighten my hair maybe up to five times a month. Basically, I am pretty lazy.
But I adore glamorous things. I love looking at the beautiful things in life. I could spend all day searching out fabulous photographers, fancy dresses, and gorgeous homes. I am a bit materialistic. I love good design.
There have only been a few times in my life when I have truly felt completely glamorous. Of course one of those times was when I got married.
The first time I really felt glamorous was when I was 16 years old (or 17, I can't remember). I had just picked up my prom dress and as soon as my photographer cousin saw it he demanded that I put it on and drive to the park to take pictures. I was a bit nervous about the whole idea of me modeling around in a prom dress. But I obliged, curled my hair and borrowed my aunt's red lipstick. I am so happy that I did.
I am about to share with you one of my all time favorite pictures of myself. It's not the best quality of a picture and it was taken with film. But I adore it.

BHLDN
So I am sure that everyone has already heard of the new wedding line by Anthropologie, BHLDN. NO?
I indulged my time last Monday on their website and I am obsessed. You can take this quiz to find out what type of bride you are and they were spot on with me.
Yes, I am already married and I had an incredible wedding. It was my dream wedding as a 20 year old. But as an almost 27 year old my taste has changed quite a bit.
As a 27 year old bride, I would have worn a vintage tea length dress (something like this or this or even this!) and a bird cage veil. Maybe I should just buy a vintage tea length party dress and call it good.
I'm kinda a sucker for browsing the net for pretty things. BHLDN definitely fits in that category. What a great time to get married!

In the house that we own, we have the most beautiful, modern light fixture in the dining room. I am head over heels in love with it.
