Be a hero

I love TED Talks and I especially love this talk that a friend shared via Facebook.

Don't wait to make a change in someone's life. Use the resources you have now and do what you can.

This reminds me of something I saw on Secret Millionaire recently. A young man was passing out hygiene kits to the homeless, and an older man with a walker passes by. The younger man notices his shoes are covered in excrement and asks the gentleman what size he wears. He searches through his donations box for a pair that would fit, but there are none. Without hesitation he takes off his own shoes and hands them over. "God bless you," says the young man as he gives them away, and the old man replies, "He already has." The "secret millionaire" who is accompanying him on his outing has eyes full of tears and has to turn around to cry. It was so humbling to watch this example of making a difference.
