H is for Horse Race or Half Moon Bay...You Pick!

I know that I should have blogged about this a LONG TIME AGO. Sorry Emily to keep you waiting, err I was moving. Any ways, about two months ago I went with some good friend (Brock left me behind in Seattle while he pursued his dream of house hunting in California) to the horse races and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend it to any one who has never been. Matter of fact, Brock has never been and the horse tracks are just a mile away from our condo so we are planning a little trip to it sometime soon. Here are some pictures of some of my favorite moments at the horse race.

Here we are with the creepy horse that put his arm around me! I was a little freaked out...

The race is about to begin!

The trumpet dude doing his thing.

The horses lining up...

AND THEY ARE OFF!!!

My favorite moment though was little Sophie's Elvis impersonation!

For the other part of our H activity we went to Half Moon Bay. I decided to have a second part for H to include Brock in on the fun. While it was sunny and warm down in the peninsula, it was cold and cloudy up by the ocean. We showed up wearing shorts and t-shirts and quickly realized that we needed to buy some sweatshirts in town. We asked around and were sent to this shop called Twice as Nice. I have no idea if the stuff is new or used (the stuff we bought seemed to have never been worn) but everything there is $3.99. Brock got a gangsta looking hoodie and I bought whatever would fit me and didn't look like an old person's sweatshirt. Here are some pictures of what Half Moon Bay is like.

Yes, that is the Pacific Ocean and it is very cold!

Brock reading away!

Better hurry up and go to Bay Meadows for the horse race. The whole place closes down at the end of the summer. They're tearing it down to make condos. Looks like fun at the beach!
